PS5 System Update for July 2025 Out Now But Don’t Get Excited

PS5 / PS5 Pro system software update

Sony Interactive Entertainment rolled out PS5 system software update 25.05-11.60.00 for July 2025 early this morning, weighing a little over 1 GB. However, the firmware update doesn’t bring anything exciting, and you’ve probably already guessed what the patch notes state.

PS5 system software update 25.05-11.60.00 patch notes (July 15, 2025)

“We’ve improved system software performance and stability,” reads the official patch information.

Sony’s probably plugged some vulnerabilities, but sometimes, the company does make noticeable changes that it doesn’t advertise. We’ll just have to wait for players to report those changes, if any.

As usual, today’s PS5 firmware update is being rolled out in phases, so if you aren’t prompted to update your console, don’t worry.

Players have been demanding some more meaningful system software updates, but unfortunately, some of the most commonly requested features remain elusive. Folders on the home screen is one of the most requested features alongside better Discord integration.

“Can we just get discord share screen already, man,” reads the most upvoted response to today’s update on Reddit. “I just want folders on the home screen,” reads another.

At this point, PS5 owners have given up hopes on new themes and UI customization.

We’ll update our readers if any changes are reported following today’s patch.
