The Witcher 3 PS5 version has surpassed God of War Ragnarok to become the platform’s second highest-rated game of 2022 after Elden Ring. With 24 critic reviews on Metacritic, Geralt of Rivia has settled for 96 on PS5, after having spent some time being tied with Elden Ring (97). God of War Ragnarok sits at a metascore of 94.
The Witcher 3 PS5 has yet to receive a score lower than 90
Looking at all the critic reviews on Metacritic thus far, The Witcher 3 has yet to receive a score lower than 90. If and when more reviews come in, the metascore of 96 may change, but don’t expect any drastic changes.
This is quite a feat for CD Projekt RED, indicating that The Witcher 3’s next-gen version still holds up well despite being an upgrade of a seven-year old game. This version comes with a plethora of quality-of-life changes and improvements, as well as new features – all free for existing owners. PS5 features include DualSense capabilities, 3D audio, Activity Cards, Performance Mode, and ray tracing support.
CD Projekt RED has also integrated community-made mods including 4K textures and models. There’s a lot more to The Witcher 3’s PS5 version than what we’ve listed here, making it one of the most impressive upgrades on modern platforms thus far.
