The idea of Uncharted on PC was almost unimaginable years ago – owing to Sony’s resistance to the platform – so when Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection finally launched on Steam, it surprised players to see that the Naughty Dog juggernaut was Sony’s weakest launch on the platform. A ResetEra thread popped up over the weekend, highlighting the game’s stats on SteamDB. According to the data tracking website, Uncharted Collection peaked at a meager 10,851 at launch, which puts it significantly lower than other Sony first-party games on PC.
A comparison of Uncharted PC with other Sony first-party games on Steam
Santa Monica Studio’s God of War peaked at 73,529 on Steam, Guerrilla Games’ Horizon Zero Dawn peaked at 56,557, and Insomniac Games’ Marvel’s Spider-Man peaked at 66,436. Prior to Uncharted, Days Gone posted Sony’s lowest launch numbers on Steam and even the Bend Studio title was well above Uncharted with 27,450 players.
One thing that does stick out here is Uncharted’s age. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is the oldest game among Sony’s first-party offerings on Steam, and it does require some prior knowledge of the series, which PC players may not have. The original games are unlikely to ever make their way to PC given their age.
