God of War Ragnarok Won’t Have a Photo Mode at Launch

God of War Ragnarok photo mode feature won’t be available at launch, Santa Monica Studio has confirmed. When previews went live last Friday, some pointed out the notable omission of a photo mode. Interestingly, it took the developer five days to release a statement confirming that it plans to add a photo mode to the game. Just not an launch, unfortunately.

When to expect God of War Ragnarok photo mode news

In classic Santa Monica Studio fashion, the statement didn’t say when we can expect a photo mode or even news of a photo mode. “Photo Mode will be coming to God of War Ragnarok after launch,” reads a tweet. “We’ll share more details closer to when we plan to release it. We can’t wait to see all of your captures once it’s live!” In other words, you’ll get it when you get it.

It’s possible that Santa Monica Studio wants to minimize the chances of players spoiling the game with their photography during the launch window, although someone with a review copy has already managed to publish spoiler-filled photos to Twitter. That said, given Sony’s recent first-party titles, expect a lavish feature when the photo mode does finally launch.
