A Twitch blooper has revealed that Capcom plans (or had planned until this happened) to surprise drop Resident Evil 4 remake demo later today. The official announcement will be made during the Capcom Showcase.
What platforms will Resident Evil 4 remake demo release on?
The blooper in question is an ad that Twitch ran yesterday and then pulled swiftly. However, internet sleuths were quick to take screenshots. Multiple users confirmed seeing the ad, which was later corroborated by known insider Dusk Golem.
According to the screenshots circulating online, the demo won’t be a timed exclusive, as has been the case with some recent releases. This means that it’ll be available on both PS4 and PS5 alongside other platforms.

What we don’t know is if this will be a limited-time demo and what it’ll entail, but I guess we’ll find out later today.
The Capcom Showcase is scheduled to take place at 2 PM PST / 5 PM EST / 10 PM GMT.
In related but not-so-good news, U.S. retailer GameStop has cancelled Resident Evil 4 Collector’s Editions pre-orders. It was initially reported that only in-store orders were cancelled but PlayStation LifeStyle later received confirmation that online orders were affected as well.
An official statement on the matter has yet to be made.
