Sony has finally given us the ability to create personalized PS Store gift cards for that special someone. In the past, Sony would send out the gift cards carrying personalized messages digitally on senders’ behalf (unless you were screenshotting codes yourself). Now, we can create a gift card as printable PDF (or digital voucher).
How to create personalized PS Store gift cards
First, purchase a PS Store gift card from wherever you prefer and then head over to http://gifting.playstation.com. Choose from the available designs (there aren’t a lot of options yet, sadly), enter the voucher code you purchased along with the amount, and add a message. You can then either share the gift card digitally via e-mail (or WhatsApp, depending on your region), or you can download and print the PDF, get a little crafty with the paper, and physically hand over the printed voucher to your loved ones!
This isn’t quite the same as Sony allowing players to purchase game codes as gifts, which fans have been requesting for ages now. But it’s a step in the right direction. Here’s hoping we get the ability to gift digital games sooner rather than later.
In the meantime, enjoy the paper crafts!
