PS Store Users Rushing to Preorder Battlefield 6 PS5 $100 Edition

Battlefield 6 open beta has yet to go live but PS5 players are already flocking to the PS Store to preorder its pricey $100 Phantom Edition. The game is comfortably sitting atop Sony storefront’s preorder charts in major regions.

Battlefield 6: Phantom Edition PS5 tops PS Store preorder charts around the globe

I first noticed Battlefield 6: Phantom Edition holding the no. 1 position in PS Store USA’s preorder charts. Out of curiosity, I checked the store pages for the UK, Australia, UAE, Japan, and France. You guessed it, the Phantom Edition is topping preorder charts in all of the above.

Battlefield 6’s standard edition also appears in top preorders, but is far surpassed by the more expensive edition, which includes:

• Battlefield Pro Token
• The Phantom Pack, featuring:
  • Phantom Squad: 4 Soldier Skins
  • 2 Weapon Packages
  • Melee Knife Weapon Skin
  • Vehicle Skin
  • Weapon Sticker
  • Weapon Charm
  • Dog Tag
• Phantom XP Boost Set

Despite being a massive Battlefield fan, I don’t think I’d be forking out $100 for the above, but who am I to judge?

Battlefield 6 isn’t the only game where we saw a similar trend. Ghost of Yotei’s $80 edition topped PS Store’s preorder charts around the globe as well, indicating that price hikes are unlikely to hurt blockbusters.

GTA 6 publisher Take-Two is probably taking note.
