Folks in the United States can now register for an opportunity to purchase Horizon Forbidden West PS5 console bundle from PlayStation Direct, a week after it was released (and instantly sold out) via retailers across the pond. As spotted by Twitter user Wario64, the bundle has appeared on Sony’s storefront but isn’t available for purchase yet. Unlike the UK, it looks like the bundle won’t release at retail in the U.S.
How to purchase the Horizon Forbidden West PS5 console bundle
The only way you can get your hands on the bundle right now is to sign up for the PlayStation lottery system. For the uninitiated, head over to PlayStation.com and register for an opportunity to purchase a PS5 from PlayStation Direct. If selected, Sony will email you a link that’s specifically tied to the PSN ID you used to register, and it’ll contain instructions on how to proceed. Just a heads up: the email doesn’t guarantee you the ability to purchase a console. You are likely to still be put in a queue and if stock runs out by the time it’s your turn, then you’re out of luck.

In a departure from the last generation, we haven’t really seen official console bundles like this one and themed PS5s are still out of question, it seems. Sony’s still struggling to produce standard consoles let alone those fancy game-themed units that we became accustomed to during the PS4 generation.
In other news, it looks like Sony has a marketing deal for Ubisoft’s Avatar game but not this year’s Call of Duty, and The Last of Us remake for PS5 is rumored to be releasing this holiday.
