Sony Releases PS4 System Update to Fix Cyberpunk 2077 Disc Issue

As we recently reported, Cyberpunk 2077‘s next-gen upgrade and latest patch have resulted in numerous issues for PlayStation players. One of the most widely reported issues is the game’s failure to launch on the PS4 after applying the patch. CD Projekt RED acknowledged the issue and said that it was working on a fix, but it looks like the problem occurred on Sony’s end. Over on Twitter, the company announced that it’ll be rolling out a system software update today to address the issue.

When will Cyberpunk 2077 PS4 disc issue be resolved?

The system update has already begun rolling out. Just sit tight if it hasn’t arrived in your region yet, and make sure to keep an eye on Ask PlayStation on Twitter and PlayStation.com for software update details.

For its part, CD Projekt RED has said that it’ll investigate the possibility of letting players carry their trophy data and progress over to the PS5 version. However, the developer has made no promises that this will happen. As far as save data migration is concerned, you can only transfer one save file from the PS4 to PS5 so you’re out of luck if you want to carry multiple saves over.

We’ll update our readers when we hear more from CD Projekt RED.

In other news, Skull and Bones is now a multiplayer title, and Ubisoft has said that it’ll consider an acquisition offer if it’s in stakeholders’ interest.
