Final Fantasy XIV Celebrates Reaching 14 Million Players

Final Fantasy 14 Anniversary

Good news for Final Fantasy fans! The MMO installment in the series is popular! Square Enix revealed that Final Fantasy XIV just passed 14 million registered players. Incidentally, the game also celebrated its fifth anniversary on August 27, 2018. In the last year alone, a total of four million new adventurers travelled to Eorzea. So basically, FFXIV, now has over 14 million players—that worked out well!.

Final Fantasy XIV Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida offered a message to all fans:

Although the original Final Fantasy XIV failed to meet expectations, through the support of people in the media, the companies we have worked with, and of course our dedicated players, we were able to launch A Realm Reborn in 2013. FFXIV was indeed reborn, and over the course of these past five years, it has grown to become the title that we all know and love today. I cannot thank you enough.

Yoshida is going to host a 14-hour livestream, where guests will be able to chat openly about how their journeys have been up to this point. It starts at 8:00 pm PST on August 31, 2018, and guests will include the game’s voice actors and development team members commenting and discussing different topics, and much more. Patch 4.4: Prelude in Violet will be discussed during the presentation.

There will even be a special guest on the live stream! Capcom’s Ryozo Tsujimoto is going to make a guest appearance. He will be joining Yoshida and to talk about the Monster Hunter: World and Final Fantasy XIV collaborationMonster Hunter: World and Final Fantasy XIV did enjoy a bit of a crossover event.

The fifth anniversary is also being celebrated in-game in Final Fantasy XIV. The celebration will conclude on September 18, 2018.
