One of the big announcements from Square Enix at E3 this year was the reveal of Final Fantasy VIII Remastered. With the rest of the PlayStation and PlayStation 2 era Final Fantasy games getting remade, remastered, and re-released, it was the odd-man-out and some thought --for whatever various reasons they found on the internet -- that it simply wouldn't get the same treatment.
Thankfully, Square Enix found a way to do it and you'll be able to enjoy the fruits of its labor soon enough as the publisher announced today a release date for the game. Final Fantasy VIII Remastered will release on Switch, Steam, PS4, and Xbox One on September 3, 2019. It will retail for $19.99.
