Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's new update finally nerfs pesky armour

Treyarch has dropped a major update on Activision's latest million-dollar shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. The new patch, which is already live in-game, makes various adjustments to the roster, mechanics, and even the audio of the multiplayer epic.

First and foremost, Armour - which many players have been complaining about as far back as the first Beta - has been nerfed in both Blackout and standard Multiplayer. Now, areas that have increased damage hitboxes, such as the chest and head, will not be as protected as they have been previously, preventing perfect sniper headshots leading to the target running around like they took a mosquito bite.

Speaking of weaponry, SMGs have taken a damage buff whilst Assault Rifles have been nerfed, to bring both weapons into closer alignment with each other in close-quarters combat. Specialist gear, for example Ajax' Ballistic Shield, has also seen respective balance adjustments.

Sound has also been redesigned. Now, like a lot of multiplayer shooters, enemy footsteps are louder than your teammates, hopefully removing the nedd to spin your head because you're being stalked, only to find it's actually your best buddy xX420UmadbroXX. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is available now on PS4, PC and Xbox One.
