Right on cue, the Steam Lunar New Year sale began today and it's carrying into Monday morning.
I'm gonna throw out some suggestions, and hey, maybe a few of them will stick. You probably know exactly what you want – that's what wishlists are for – but if not, here are games to get you started.
- Hades ($19.99) – A more-than-worthy price.
- Rogue Legacy 2 ($17.99) – Still in Early Access, but it's already fun.
- Journey to the Savage Planet ($17.99) – This Metroid Prime lite recently joined Steam.
- Yakuza: Like a Dragon ($41.99) – Do it for Ichiban.
- Pumpkin Jack ($22.49) – For 3D platformer fans.
- Ori: The Collection ($11.60) – A crazy-good price for both games.
- Slay the Spire ($12.49) – Not my scene, but it could be yours.
- Deep Rock Galactic ($19.49) – Brilliant co-op vibes and it just got a major update.
- Total War: Warhammer II ($20.39) – Settle in with the boyz before Warhammer III is out.
- Omori ($15.99) – For the Undertale and EarthBound crowd.
- Crusader Kings III ($39.99) – History is insane.
- Little Nightmares ($3.99) – Prep for the just-released sequel.
- Untitled Goose Game ($11.99) – Now with co-op.
- Spyro Reignited Trilogy ($13.99) – I'll take Spyro 4 now, please.
- Bloons TD 6 ($1.99) – I didn't know this series was still around and I need it.
Random tip: if you scroll down the Lunar New Year page to the "Popular" list, there's a tab called "Discount Amount" – it's a good way to see deep discounts at a glance if you're looking for budget finds.
What to buy, what to buy... sometimes, the answer is "nothing at all!" Take it from Ned.
Even if you're looking to sit this sale out, you may want to swing by a few times anyway. You can grab a free animated Ox sticker each day on Steam. Just pop over to Points Shop and see what you pull out.
I got the "Red Envelope Ox" today. Not my favorite of the pack (I'd prefer noodles), but cute nonetheless.
